ACE at The Adult Education & Training Exhibition City Hall 2-5 September
Adult Education & Training Exhibition takes place in City Hall, Cork, next week from Tuesday September 3 – Thursday September 5 – FREE & ALL WELCOME
Since 1977 the Cork Adult Education Council has organised the exhibition in Cork City Hall – the only one of its kind in the country. It’s aimed at giving the public the chance to find out about all the learning opportunities available for adults in the Cork area. Organisations & individuals involved in lifelong learning participate, offering a wide range of classes, courses and activities.
Today many people use the Internet to find information, but there is nothing quite like being able to ask questions and discuss your specific needs face to face with those offering classes and other activities. That helps explain why the exhibition is so popular, year after year. Admission is free, and all are welcome.
UCC, community & other schools are participating, joined by colleges, organisations & individuals from the private sector, with many voluntary organisations also represented.
There is greater participation from County Cork this year as among exhibitors is the Cork Education & Training Board , the new body which replaced the City of Cork VEC and County Cork VEC this July.
Between them the exhibitors offer a diverse range of courses and activities to cater for all interests.
FREE WORKSHOPS
There are two free workshops, aimed at the unemployed, but all welcome.
On Wednesday September 4 at 2pm there’s an Information Session with a presentation from the ETB Adult Guidance Service on courses for adults, how to apply, what help is available. That’s followed by a presentation from the Department of Social Protection on financial supports available for those returning to education.
On Thursday September 5 at 7pm you are encouraged to bring along your CV to a workshop when Cork City Partnership gives a workshop on how to update and improve it to help you find employment.
Exhibition Opening Times:
Tuesday September 3 – 5pm to 9pm
Wednesday September 4 – 12.30pm to 6pm
Thursday September 5– 5pm to 9pm.
